The Mayorâs Food System Task Force is assessing Richmond, Virginiaâs ability to feed the populace for the future. The structure of this group fosters collaboration among a broad swath of stake holders, business owners, home gardeners, municipal and nonprofit staff, residents of food deserts, and farmers. Together they seek to clarify the questions and develop innovative, sustainable solutions. Hear the vision and facts as Lightly on the Ground hosts cochairs Carolyn Graham and Anne Darby.

A City looks deeply at how to support Life in the future. This expansive assignment was divided into categories: ⢠Removing barriers that limit access to quality, healthy and fresh foods; ⢠Increasing the use of farm to school and farm to consumer programs; ⢠Expanding the development of local food-based businesses, including farmers markets; ⢠Expanding urban agricultural production of locally-grown and organically-grown foods to include school and community gardens; ⢠Enhancing food security of city residents. The theme music is Bonefire Dance by Rattlemouth, and the incidental music was Mavis Staples telling us to "Have a Little Faith."
