While the U.S.-led invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq have garnered headlines recently, such operations are nothing new for American foreign policy, according to award-winning foreign correspondent Stephen Kinzer.

His latest book, Overthrow: America's Century of Regime Change From Hawaii to Iraq, details how "regime change" has been an integral part of U.S. foreign policy for more than 100 years.

Kinzer, a former correspondent for The New York Times, will talk about the book and his finding that "regime change" is a long-established American tradition, albeit one with troubling consequences. He will discuss clandestine coups, stage-managed revolutions and U.S.-invasions, starting with the ouster of Hawaii"s monarchy in 1893 and continuing though the Cold War and up to Iraq
