The best part (the second half) of a fiery and brilliant speech by journalist, essayist, activist, and prophet Chris Hedges.
Hedges argues that sadism defines every aspect of American life, from the corporate-controlled popular culture to the politics to--especially--the harsh neoliberal-capitalist economic system. The interlocking systems all oppress the huge majority of Americans for the benefit of a tiny elite.
Both political parties, including Mr. Biden, serve the elite and promote the oppression of the rest of us--destroying the environment in the process.

The great necessity now, argues Hedges, is intelligent, coordinated, widespread rebellion by the oppressed 99%. Numerous similar (if smaller) popular rebellions occurred in America in the past, and several were successful in producing lasting change.
