This was far and away the most exciting meeting that I have ever attended in all of my years of environmental protection work. Things are very different now. The people have come to a point where they are no longer willing to accept the abuses of the corporate/government culture. The people of Akwesasne are strong and good. They spoke about the relationship that exists between First Nations people and the Earth. They spoke about the environmental genocide that is taking place on the Akwesasne Reserve. They demanded full clean-up of the industrial contaminants that were released by ALCOA into the Grasse River and the Massena Power Canal.

Everyone on Earth should listen to what the people of Akwesasne said to ALCOA and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the evening of November 15, 2012. These were words of love of the Earth, courage, honor and determination. Once people have heard these words, they should contact the Onkwehonwe of Akwesasne and endeavor to assist with the great work of bringing an end to the environmental genocide. The Onkwehonwe can be reached by visiting the website named below.
