The Transition Towns concept is a grassroots, community-led model for making the change to a low carbon future. The message is: if we design the future rather than letting it happen to us, we can make it better. All the signs are that it is a project that works and it's spreading like a virus throughout the UK. Last week Climate Radio went along to the inaugural conference for the newly formed Transition Network - a charity set up to support the towns, cities, islands, villages and boroughs that are either in process of transition or are considering it. In the beautiful setting of Ruskin Mill near Stroud, we took some of the participants aside to find out what was happening in their area. This is just a snapshot of the many and diverse projects now underway.
