The Native American William S. Burroughs, cyber-storytelling, cut-ups, painting imagescapes with sound. This week we spotlight a friend, artist and experimental musician Raymond Charles Lafferty III. Raymond, who is in many respects "Man who would be King, or Chief" of the Mesa Grande Band of Diegueno Indians, is a full time Abstract Expressionist artist. His works have been shown at the John Paul Getty Museum, The Whitney Museum and used in performances at La Biennale di Venezia 2005, and has been accepted to the Smithsonian Native American Museum Archives.
Possibly the most understated, yet important California Indigenous Artist of our generation. I'm proud to know him as a friend, and I'm honored to bring you, the first of two Raymond Lafferty compilations, "Diegueno NDN NRK".
