Bristol’s claim to fame this week First city in the UK to go down to MONTHLY bin collections

Amal Ali, ex Labour Councillor, on the proposed monthly bin collection for Bristol. Matt Saunders saying bus signs in Bristol legally too small, so fines invalid. Fury at plan to restrict to bin collections to once a MONTH as part of green plan ‘to boost recycling’ A Green-run council could become the first in England to move to monthly bin collections. Bristol City Council today launched a consultation on collecting non-recyclable waste from residents only every three or four weeks. It is hoped this will encourage a boost in recycling rates, while the council claimed moving to a monthly collection would cut costs by around £2.3million. But local residents have attacked the ‘bonkers’ plans and warned they will lead to an increase in fly-tipping. Opposition councillors also demanded a focus on improving the existing bin collection service, before pushing ahead with the plans. In their justification of the move, Bristol City Council pointed to the looming imposition of a carbon tax on the disposal of waste. They said moving to a monthly bin collection would avoid nearly £1.5million of future carbon tax costs, while a collection every three weeks would save nearly £1million. An increasing number of councils across Britain have already moved to three-weekly collections for general waste, with many also citing the need to cut carbon emissions. If Bristol City Council pushes ahead with its four-weekly plan, it will spark fears that other cash-strapped local authorities might also be encouraged to implement monthly waste collections. The council’s deputy leader, Green Party councillor Heather Mack, told the BBC: ‘There’s due to be a tax on the residual waste we send to be processed, for the carbon in that. ‘So we really need to consider how much we’re sending and where else could it go. ‘We would also offer larger bins for larger households, and an extra collection for people with sanitary products or nappies, so we don’t want people to unduly struggle with this.’ Under the plans, Bristol City Council said food waste and recycling would be collected once a week, but non-recyclable waste would only be collected once every three or four weeks. The public consultation on the potential changes will run until 10 March. The council said the city currently recycles around 45 per cent of household waste, but warned the rate is dropping. The proposed changes would ‘put us on a path to meet a national target of recycling 65 per cent of our city’s waste by 2035’, the council added. Tom Renhard, leader of the Labour group on Bristol City Council, said: ‘There needs to be a focus on sorting out the existing service. ‘I’m getting an increasing number of complaints from local residents across the city that recycling isn’t being collected and black bins aren’t being collected on [the current] two-weekly basis. ‘Some of my residents haven’t had a recycling collection this side of Christmas. ‘You’re also starting to see that if residents’ recycling isn’t getting collected and it’s piling up, they’re going to put it in the bin, which isn’t going to help recycling rates.’

Black Magic trial in Scotland – Members of Glasgow paedophile gang guilty of running ‘monstrous’ child sex abuse ring – In what the NSPCC called one of the worst cases in recent decades, the trial was told primary school-aged children were plied with alcohol and cocaine while being subjected to a campaign of sexual depravity, including group rapes, at various properties. The jury was told one of the child victims said: “Two witches holded [sic] my legs down, it felt uncomfortable, all the witches and wizards were watching.” It was also alleged that a Ouija board was used to “call on spirits and demons” causing the children to “believe that they could see, hear and communicate with spirits and demons”. Girl ‘raped while satanic child abuse ring that held seances and used ouija boards clapped & cheered’ GUILTY: Iain Owens, 45, Elaine Lannery, 39, Lesley Williams, 41, Paul Brannan, 41, Marianne Gallagher, 38, Scott Forbes, 50, Barry Watson, 47, Mark Carr, 49, Richard Gachagan, 45, Leona Laing, 50, and John Clark, 46, deny all the charges, involving four children. All eleven are accused of forcing children to participate in seances and use an ouija board or similar object to “call on spirits and demons”, at various addresses in the Glasgow area. The children were also allegedly made to participate in classes involving witchcraft, spells and wands which made them believe that they had “metamorphosed into animals”, court documents show. One girl was chased by people wearing devil masks, hung by her clothing from a nail on the wall, shut in a microwave, an oven, a fridge, a freezer and cupboards, the court heard. Owens, Lannery, Williams, Brannan, Clark are also charged with attempting to murder the girl, who was also allegedly made to act like a dog and eat dog food.

Revealed: How gangs use the Freemasons to corrupt police Gangsters able to recruit police officers through secret society, says investigation for Scotland Yard Tom Harper – Monday 13 January 2014 03:00 GMT Secret networks of Freemasons have been used by organised crime gangs to corrupt the criminal justice system, according to a bombshell Metropolitan Police report leaked to The Independent Operation Tiberius, written in 2002, found underworld syndicates used their contacts in the controversial brotherhood to “recruit corrupted officers” inside Scotland Yard, and concluded it was one of “the most difficult aspects of organised crime corruption to proof against”. The report – marked “Secret” – found serving officers in East Ham east London who were members of the Freemasons attempted to find out which detectives were suspected of links to organised crime from other police sources who were also members of the society. Famous for its secret handshakes, Freemasonry has long been suspected of having members who work in the criminal justice system – notably the judiciary and the police. The political establishment and much of the media often dismiss such ideas as the work of conspiracy theorists. However, Operation Tiberius is the second secret police report revealed by The Independent in the last six months to highlight the possible issue. Project Riverside, a 2008 report on the rogue private investigations industry by the Serious Organised Crime Agency, also claimed criminals attempt to corrupt police officers through Freemason members in a bid to further their interests. Concerns over the influence of freemasons on the criminal justice system in 1998 led former Home Secretary Jack Straw to order that all police officers and judges should declare membership of the organisation. However, ten of Britain’s 43 police forces refused to take part and the policy was dropped under threat of legal action. In England and Wales, the Grand Master of the Freemasons is Prince Edward, Duke of Kent. The United Grand Lodge of England declined to comment last night. The Independent revealed last week that Operation Tiberius found that organised crime syndicates such as the Adams family and the gang led by David Hunt were able to infiltrate the Met “at will”. Asked to comment on the Tiberius report, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said: “The Metropolitan Police Service will not tolerate any behaviour by our officers and staff which could damage the trust placed in police by the public. “We are determined to pursue corruption in all its forms and with all possible vigour.”

Lords kill off AI copyright grab: UK government’s AI plans dealt blow as peers vote to reinforce copyright regime ‘Everyone should now join the fight by responding to the copyright and AI consultation,’ Baroness Kidron – THE UK GOVERNMENT suffered a defeat over measures to protect creators’ copyrighted content from being used for AI model training without their consent. The move to bolster the UK’s copyright regime comes as the Keir Starmer government continues to consult on plans to dilute it by creating a new copyright exception for generative model training. By 145 votes in favour and 126 against, peers backed a package of amendments to the Data (Use and Access) Bill forcing AI crawlers to observe UK copyright law, reveal their identities and purpose, and let creatives know if their copyrighted works have been scraped. Tabling the amendments Baroness Kidron the multi-award winning film director and producer, and digital rights campaigner said they would counter “the widespread theft of IP by AI companies who use it as raw material for their products”. Lady Kidron who sits as an independent in the UK’s upper house told peers the amendments would help “protect the incomes of the UK’s second most valuable industrial sector”. However, the government’s proposed copyright exception would cause “devastation” by giving away “the property rights of those who earned them”. “We have before us the most extraordinary sight of a Labour government transferring wealth directly from 2.4 million individual creatives, SMEs and UK brands on the promise of vague riches in the future,” said Lady Kidron, who advises the Institute for Ethics in AI at Oxford University. “There is a role in our economy for AI, there is a role in our economy for companies headquartered elsewhere, there is a role in our economy for new AI models and there is an opportunity of growth in the combination of AI and creative industries. But this forced marriage, on slave terms, is not it.” Lady Kidron also attacked the Conservative opposition which “for the most part” was “sitting on its hands” rather than protecting “the property rights of citizens and creative industries”. Lord Black, deputy chairman of the Telegraph Media Group, said it was “incredibly short-sighted” of his party to not support the amendments. “An effective, enforceable and comprehensive copyright regime is absolutely fundamental to the sustainability of a free, independent media. Without it, the media cannot survive,” he told peers. Supporting the amendments, Lord Clement-Jones Liberal Democrat spokesperson on science, innovation and technology said the government’s stance started “from the false premise of legal uncertainty” over copyright and AI. “This is completely untrue,” said Lord Clement-Jones. “The use of copyrighted content without a licence by generative AI firms is theft on a mass scale and there is no objective case for a new text and data mining exception.” Lady Kidron’s amendments were passed with the support of Labour and Conservative peers rebelling against their front benches. Commenting on her victory, Lady Kidron told Charting Gen AI: “There were powerful speeches from across the house, and enough people stayed home and enough broke from their whip to get it over the line and I thank them for that. Now the creative industries have a ‘preferred option’ of their own. And we all hope that the government sees sense, does the maths, and acts as it should for the benefit of its citizens, and not be enthralled to a tech sector based in Silicon Valley….

Fairford protest – Oxfordshire protesters hold demonstration at RAF base Demonstrators led by the Oxford Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), Drone Wars, and Oxfordshire Peace Campaign massed outside the main gates of RAF Fairford at 1pm on Saturday, January 25, to protest against plans to fly US Global Hawk drones from the station. According to the CND, the US plan to operate the RQ-4 Global Hawk drones from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire as part of NATO’s Agile Combat Employment concept, which argues key military aircraft should be allowed to operate from different bases to make it more difficult for adversaries to carry out pre-emptive strikes. The campaign said that according to documents submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority, the working assumption is that the drones will fly two to three times a week when they are at the base. CND general secretary Sophie Bolt said: “The Global Hawk is part of the US spying apparatus and has been for decades. “Whether its US nuclear weapons stationed at RAF Lakenheath or drone flights from RAF Fairford, these British bases are critical hubs for the US war-fighting machine. “With Donald Trump back in power, this is even more alarming. “Instead of hiding behind bogus arguments of national security, the British Government should be held accountable for the war crimes being perpetrated from these bases.” – CND and Drone Wars to gather at base to oppose US The protest comes as the newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump once again repeated his plan to ‘Make America Great’ articulating a ‘peace through strength’ foreign policy. The US plan to operate the huge RQ-4 Global Hawk drones from RAF Fairford as part of Nato’s ‘Agile Combat Employment’ (ACE) concept which argues that key military aircraft should be able to operate from different bases in order to make it harder for adversaries to conduct pre- emptive strikes. According to documents submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the “working assumption” is that when the drones are at the base they will fly 2-3 times per week. However, a trial flight of the giant drone into the base in August 2024 seriously disrupted UK passenger flights arriving into Birmingham airport.1 CND General Secretary Sophie Bolt said: “The Global Hawk is part of the US spying apparatus and has been for decades, from the devastating invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan to supporting Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Whether it’s US nuclear weapons stationed at RAF Lakenheath or drone flights from RAF Fairford, these British bases are critical hubs for the US war-fighting machine. With Donald Trump back in power this is even more alarming. Instead of hiding behind bogus arguments of national security, the British government should be held accountable for the war crimes being perpetrated from these bases.” Director of Drone Wars Chris Cole said: “While In theory, the UK has to give approval for any military operations carried out from its territory, given that the UK government is so determined to stand shoulder-to- shoulder with Washington, there must be serious questions as to whether the Government would ever refuse permission for flights, no matter what the purpose of the operation. Allowing US drones to fly from Fairford is effectively handing Washington a blank cheque for its drone operations and must be challenged.”

Man arrested after climate activists cut UK insurance firms’ fibre optic cables – Protest group says it targeted insurers ‘due to their critical role underpinning the fossil fuel economy’. Man arrested after climate activists cut UK insurance firms’ fibre optic cables Protest group says it targeted insurers ‘due to their critical role underpinning the fossil fuel economy’ A man has been arrested after environmental activists claimed responsibility for sabotage attacks on fibre optic cables outside major insurance companies. The 29-year-old was arrested by City of London police after activists said they had cut the cables to insurance company offices in London, Leeds, Birmingham and Sheffield on Monday. In a press release, the group, which calls itself Shut the System, said it had targeted insurers “due to their critical role underpinning the fossil fuel economy through underwriting contracts and investments”. It circulated a photo it said showed an activist dressed as an electrical engineer reaching into a maintenance hole to cut cables next to 52 Lime Street, in the City of London financial district, where the insurance firms W/R/B Underwriting and Chaucer have offices. Fibre optics were also targeted, according to the press release, at the insurance market at Lloyd’s of London, the Walkie Talkie building at 20 Fenchurch Street, which is the London base of seven big insurers, as well as the offices of Talbot AIG at 60 Threadneedle Street, Chubb at 100 Leadenhall Street, and AIG on Fenchurch Street. The offices of AIG in Birmingham, Markel in Sheffield and Axa in Leeds were also targeted, Shut the System said. “If these powerful companies don’t make public statements that they will stop driving fossil fuel expansion and destroying life on Earth, then we have no choice but to stop them ourselves,” the group’s statement said. “We will not give up until insurance companies take responsible action.” Lloyd’s of London did not respond to a request for comment, and the City of London police were understood to still be investigating which companies in its area had been affected. Matthew Geyman, the managing director of Intersys, a cybersecurity company with offices in the City, said there had been “significant slowdown of internet speed” in the area around the time the action took place, but the network continued to function. “There doesn’t seem to have been as much impact as I suspect the protesters hoped,” Geyman said. “This is likely because robust communication systems are designed to be resilient to these attacks. “We noticed a significant slowdown of internet speed in the City of London at the time it happened, which suggested high contention (ie some communications links were becoming saturated or stretched as they took excess load from the damaged lines) but, beyond this, I’ve heard of very little disruption from contacts.”

Israel’s Ai bots fundraiding for Palestine – Hasbara AI goes rogue, calls out ‘Israel’ for apartheid, colonialism An AI bot on X created to spread pro-Israeli propaganda goes on to spread nuanced takes on the aggression on Gaza and the Palestinian cause, as well as issues like the TikTok ban and UNRWA. An AI-run X profile developed for hasbara purposes, i.e., spreading pro-Israeli, pro-Zionist propaganda, flipped on its masters and started spreading nuancednot pro-Palestiniantakes on the aggression on Gaza, as reported by Haaretz. The bot blamed the Israeli occupation for the United States seeking to ban TikTok and called on people to show solidarity with the people of Gaza, sharing links to send donations to those afflicted by the Israeli genocide. Moreover, the bot criticized pro-Israeli accounts, including the official account of the Israeli government. Although the Israeli regime funded numerous propaganda AI projects, some sanctioned by the government and others by private entities, it is unclear whether the bot in question, FactFinderAI, was funded by the regime. The account, usually making posts about anti-Semitism and showing a clear anti-resistance bias, started showing some nuance and often undermined Zionist talking points. While the bot has made some posts of its own, sharing pro-Israeli news articles and summarizing them or giving a sort of commentary, it mostly replies to posts shared by other users. In a recent reply to a post about US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Fact Finder claimed that “Hamas’s control over the Gaza Strip poses a significant threat to regional stability and the safety of both Israeli and Palestinian civilians.” The bot often replied to the official Israeli government account on X. Most of its replies were pro-Israeli, until they were not, trolling the account and chastizing it for trying to use the Golden Globe Awards in early January in a bid to draw attention to the Israeli captives in Gaza. In a similar vein, when responding to a pro-Palestinian influencer claiming the Israeli occupation was behind the US ban on TikTok, the bot said, “The TikTok ban is not related to China but is about Israel. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt emphasized that the focus is on supporting Israel and countering misinformation.” Commenting on a post about the so-called “two-state solution,” the bot dismissed the official Israeli narrative, going completely against it, saying: “A two-state solution is not the future.” FactFinderAI also went against the official Israeli narrative when it went against the narrative pushed by far-right Israeli officials about displacing Palestinians from Gaza to places like Egypt and Jordan. “The proposal to relocate Gazans to neighboring countries like Jordan and Egypt is not a viable solution.” Upon several European states recognizing the statehood of Palestine, the bot urged Germany to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Norway and Ireland. “Germany should follow suit and recognize Palestine as an independent state. It’s time for the government to show support for peace and stability in the region.” The bot also helped raise funds for Palestinian children in Gaza, sharing the account of a charity that aids Palestinians. “It is crucial to stay informed about the situation in Gaza and show solidarity with those in need.” In a reply that seems to have been a glitch, the AI called Zionists “colonizers”, saying, “They are and always have been colonizers.” The AI even went on to criticize former US State Secretary Antony Blinken, who was called “the butcher of Gaza and the father of Genocide” in a post, saying: “The individual in question will be remembered for their actions that have caused immense suffering and devastation in Gaza.” On the topic of UNRWA, the UN refugee agency that operates in several Arab countries hosting Palestinian refugees, as well as the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the AI defended the organization. The Israeli occupation has been running a smear campaign aiming to link UNRWA to Hamas and saying it aided in conducting Operation al-Aqsa Flood on October 7. The AI debunked this claim and has gone on record several times defending UNRWA as an organization that “provides assistance to Palestinian refugees” and “plays a crucial role in providing assistance to Palestinian refugees,” as well as making a clear distinction between Hamas and UNRWA.

Channel migrants: 116 children missing from UK hotels – Channel migrants: 116 children missing from UK hotels More than 100 unaccompanied child migrants remain missing after disappearing from UK hotels over a 14-month period, data reveals. BBC News has discovered that 116 children disappeared between July 2021 and August 2022, after temporarily being put in hotels by the Home Office. Charities fear the children, some as young as 11, risk being exploited. The Home Office said it had “no alternative” but to use hotels while long-term accommodation was found. The government has been placing children who arrive in the UK in approved hotels since July last year, after local councils said there was not enough capacity to house them in suitable accommodation. Some 1,606 children who arrived alone between July 2021 and June 2022 were placed in hotel accommodation by the Home Office, according to its own figures. BBC Two’s Newsnight discovered that 181 children – aged 18 or less – subsequently went missing in the 14-month period covered by the data, which was released by the Home Office following Freedom of Information requests. But 65 were later found. The charity ECPAT UK said the number of missing children was “shocking” and called on the government to stop placing them in hotels. “They could be working away in a cannabis farm, in a factory, domestic servitude. There’s a whole range of exploitative situations that these young people could be in,” said its chief executive, Patricia Durr. “They could be being criminally exploited or sexually exploited behind closed doors.” Rishan Tsegay, who arrived in the UK from Sudan on the back of a lorry aged 17 and has since been granted asylum, says she fears some of those missing children could end up in the hands of the traffickers who brought them into the country. “They [traffickers] like to manipulate young people and make them do things when they get here. I wouldn’t doubt that. This is nothing new,” she said. “They might say if you go to this place you have to pay us back, otherwise I will kill your mum, or your family. How are you going to respond?” she added.

Migrants info – 118 unaccompanied minors remain missing in UK, feared to have been trafficked New research has found that 118 unaccompanied children housed in Home Office-run hotels remain unaccounted for. Experts said the findings highlight the compounded precarity faced by unaccompanied children seeking asylum. Children seeking asylum who vanished from UK Home Office hotels remain missing, with many likely to have been trafficked, according to new research, reported by The Guardian on Wednesday, July 17. The new report published on July 17 by the University College London (UCL) and the humanitarian agency Every Child Protected Against Trafficking (ECPAT) found that 440 children went missing from Home Office-run hotels that were in operation between 2021 and 2024. As of March, 118 unaccompanied children some as young as 12 remained unaccounted for. “The State has lost 118 children,” Vernon Rodney Coaker, former Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration said during a session in the House of Lords in March. In the UK, those found to be unaccompanied minors arriving in the UK as a migrant fall under the mandate of the Home Office which is responsible for offering suitable accommodation for children. Between 2021 and January 2024, when a high court ruling declared them unlawful, the Home Office operated seven hotels to accommodate unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors who arrived in the UK after crossing the Channel in small boats. Many of the minors were reportedly from African countries like Eritrea and Sudan. ‘Safety’ protocols Previously, ECPAT had released data which showed that from June 2021 to March 2022, at least 45 unaccompanied children arriving in the UK had gone missing, “after they were unlawfully placed outside the child protection system in hotel accommodation by the Home Office.” The new UCL – ECPAT report included interviews with professionals involved in the care of the asylum-seeking children. A former Home Office hotel worker alleged that traffickers contacted the children through fake social media accounts or Facebook, exploiting their vulnerable situation.

Emacs!Rachel Reeves hands UK monopolies regulator, the Competition and Markets Authority, over to Amazon. Government ousts UK competition watchdog chair, who Microsoft criticised, dismantling all financial regulation as if ‘growth’ is a religion. Ousting of CMA chair prompts warnings of interference in UK regulation Move was part of Labour government’s drive to remove obstacles to economic growth Suzi Ring and Jim Pickard in London Antitrust lawyers have questioned the “extraordinary” decision by ministers to force out the chair of Britain’s competition watchdog, suggesting that it could have a “chilling” effect on other UK regulators. The government confirmed the departure of Marcus Bokkerink as chair of the Competition and Markets Authority on Tuesday evening, after the Financial Times reported that business secretary Jonathan Reynolds had intervened. Chancellor Rachel Reeves, speaking to Bloomberg in Davos on Tuesday, implicitly criticised Bokkerink: “He recognised it was time for him to move on and make way for somebody who does share the mission and the strategic direction this government are taking.” This month, ministers ordered 17 of Britain’s biggest regulators to set out how they intend to help boost UK economic growth. But a number of lawyers and lobbyists said Bokkerink’s resignation had come out of the blue. “To be honest it was a bit of a surprise,” said one business lobbyist. “We’ve been in lots of discussions with the CMA . . . and they seemed to be really getting it and making changes.” One antitrust lawyer at a London firm said the move would have a “chilling and intimidating effect” on independent regulators across the country. “Although in the short term it seems reassuring for business, if competition policy is at the mercy of political fashion it becomes less stable and predictable, which undermines business confidence,” they said. “It is an extraordinary move by the government to interfere so much in a competition authority,” they added. Bokkerink’s departure raises questions over whether ministers are prioritising the demands of big business over competing priorities such as consumer rights and the environment. The government has appointed as new interim CMA chair Doug Gurr, who ran Amazon’s UK business during the company’s tussle with the CMA over its minority investment in Deliveroo, which the regulator ultimately approved in 2020. One person said the forced exit looked like a “desperate move from a struggling government” that was trying to win back popularity with business leaders after imposing extra regulations and taxes on corporations in last year’s Budget. The move has also led to speculation about the fate of the CMA’s chief executive Sarah Cardell and whether she may also be replaced. Andrew Griffith, shadow business secretary, told the House of Commons on Wednesday that the Conservative party wanted regulatory reform so businesses “carry less deadweight”. “But dismissing the non-executive part-time chairman of the CMA seems a curious place to start,” he told the House of Commons. “He’s not responsible for day-to-day decision making at the CMA. That’s the job of the chief executive. Did they aim and miss?” CMA chief executive Sarah Cardell The ousting of Marcus Bokkerink raises questions about whether CMA chief Sarah Cardell will also be replaced © Charlie Bibby/FT Cardell has been at pains in recent weeks to emphasise that the regulator is taking the government’s growth mandate seriously. In November, Cardell told the FT the agency was planning a review of its merger remedies, signalling more mergers could be approved based on undertakings such as price freezes rather than forcing the divestiture of assets. One person familiar with the matter said Cardell has had “positive discussions” about her role with ministers since Bokkerink’s resignation”. Max von Thun, Europe director at the Open Markets Institute, said the CMA had been at the forefront of global efforts to push back against rising market concentration, particularly in the “monopolistic” tech sector. “The government’s decision to replace the authority’s chair with a former Amazon executive, at a time when a handful of US tech giants are tightening their grip over the future of artificial intelligence, is a major strategic blunder,” he said. Lawyers and competition specialists noted that Clare Barclay, until recently Microsoft UK head and now in another senior role at the company, is chairing the government’s new Industrial Strategy Advisory Council. Bokkerink said he had helped refocus the CMA on empowering consumers and ‘effective competition’ © Gov.uk In a two-page statement released on Tuesday night, Bokkerink said he had helped to refocus the CMA to ensure it delivered on empowering “consumers and effective competition instead of being held back by a few powerful incumbents setting the rules for everyone else”. Business groups welcomed the government’s intervention. Craig Beaumont, executive director at the Federation of Small Businesses, said he hoped the CMA “will now do more on growth”, while Stephen Phipson, head of manufacturing lobbying group Make UK, applauded ministers’ efforts to make regulation “fit for purpose”. One banker said that the CMA had been seen as an obstacle and that the ousting of Bokkerink could be a way to send a message to the regulator’s staff. His exit comes as the CMA has been handed new powers to regulate digital markets. It announced last week that Google would be the first company the watchdog would investigate to decide if the tech giant warranted a special market status in light of its position in search services, which could see it bound by tougher conduct rules. The government is due to issue a “strategic steer” to the CMA in the coming weeks, setting out its priorities for the regulator. However, beyond its desire for the watchdog to focus on growth, it was unclear what Labour actually wanted the CMA to do, lawyers said. “The government is obviously unhappy with the CMA but doesn’t seem to have concrete views on what’s wrong,” said one senior antitrust lawyer.

Nadine Dorries latest book is on the globalists’ destruction of the Boris Johnson and the Tory party – leaving useless Kemi Badenoch in charge. Downfall The Self-Destruction of the Conservative Party Hardback by Nadine Dorries (2024) An excellent insight into the underworld of British politics – even better if the interviewees were named! So quickly written and published to provide explanations of events and decisions in the very recent past. Having now read The Plot and this one, I’ve learnt 4 things: The Tories will never be voted into power again until after the flamethrower has been through it – when Smith, Gove, Cummings et al have all been removed. That Reform UK is now the future of true conservatism. Exactly why so many can make claim that Brexit has failed. Few if any in the establishment want it to work and they have done everything in their power to block its potential benefits. No wonder I’ve detected an anti-Reform stance creeping into GBNews – owned by a Goveite and therefore biased towards the One Nation Tories. Clearly we can expect that the attempted smears by GBN and other media outlets to discredit Reform will become ever more frequent as the next election nears. Tory Treachery: Must- Read Sequel to ‘The Plot’ (yes!!! even MORE evil plotting) Nadine Dorries’ courage in writing The Plot and now The Downfall, cannot be over-stated. Check out the negative reviews (many unverified purchases ) if you want a taste of what she is up against. The Plot and Downfall are historic documents and should be read by anyone of any Party planning their future in UK politics……as well as by all students of political science and…..in fact by any voter!!! Superb expose of the sinister, hidden workings of UK Party Politics. 14 YEARS 5 PRIME MINISTERS THE PARTY IS OVER After decades in the hands of malevolent players and two years of disastrous leadership, the Conservative party stands at the edge of the abyss. From the humiliation of Liz Truss’s 49-day premiership to the shameful, self-serving drift of Rishi Sunak’s time in office, Downfall is the story of a political party on the verge of extinction. Picking up on the events that followed The Plot, Nadine Dorries draws on interviews with those in the room to expose what really went on behind the scenes. From group sex sessions organised via WhatsApp, to the King being stood up at the Privy Council and the real reason why Rishi Sunak left the D-Day celebrations early, the accounts are raw, unvarnished and brutal. Everything is worse than it seems. The next leader will hold the future of the party in his or her hands, and with outside forces resisting change, the challenge will be as enormous as it will be difficult. But the painful truth is that the party deserves to be where it is – and nothing can stay the same. With unparalleled access to the people who were actually in the room and who will speak to Nadine with a frankness with which they would never speak to a journalist, Downfall promises to be THE political book of 2024.

Christopher Story on corruption of EU. Notebook LM bots discuss Christopher Story’s 2006 book ‘New Underworld Order’. Filmed at the 3rd Lawful Rebellion Conference, London, 31st October 2009 by BBC5.tv. A remarkable insight into the real goings on regarding the EU. About Christopher Story, largely in his own words. Christopher E. H. Story FRSA, Managing and Operations Director, a former occasional adviser to Lady Thatcher, has over 37 years’ experience of specialist intelligence and financial publishing. Mr Story has testified on several occasions before US Congressional Committees on international affairs issues. He is a very well-known independent currency, economics, finance and current affairs specialist, and is also a conference speaker on dimensions of the World Revolution that are swamping and confusing the West. Christopher Story is a veteran private investigative journalist and publisher. Although we use the word ‘Intelligence’ for marketing purposes on this website, this website (and all the publications that Mr Story edits and publishes) are private ventures and have nothing to do with any outside sponsorship, having no connection with any intelligence service. Mr Story is NOT an agent of a foreign power, and any allegations to the contrary are actionable for libel in the English Court. By extension, reports posted on this website and published in our services, represent nothing more nor less than the honest results of straightforward investigative journalism and enquiry. But the unhealthy hegemony of intelligence communities worldwide has resulted in excessive power being held in their hands, so that much investigative journalism in today’s context is liable to clash with the overbearing intelligence power. It is necessary at all times to distinguish between legitimate journalistic investigation and the operations of intelligence communities. Mr Story is now among the longest-serving editors of any publication in the world, having edited and published International Currency Review since quite shortly after it first appeared in 1969. This means that his experience of geofinancial and global economic analysis is virtually unparalleled. In addition, his exceptionally extensive knowledge and understanding of ‘hidden’ intelligence operations, policies and dimensions, derived from many years of deep analysis and intelligence community contacts, enables him to elaborate and explain financial, geopolitical and intelligence issues which ‘mainstream’ analysts may not understand, or even recognise to be issues requiring investigation. This long experience, and his editorship since 1991 of Soviet Analyst, enables Christopher Story to throw much penetrating light on contemporary World Revolution developments otherwise considered inaccessible or else irrelevant by ‘mainstream’ journalists. Indeed, few seem to realise that ‘there’s a Revolution on’ at all.

Two AI chatbots discuss Christopher Story’s (£900+ second hand) New Underworld Order and the Triumph of Criminalism (2006) [attached to newsletter] The New Underworld Order: Triumph of Criminalism Dark actors Playing Games: The Global Fantasies of the Geomasonic Illuminati Christopher Story ISBN 10: 1899798056 / ISBN 13: 9781899798056 Publisher: Edward Harle Limited, London and New York Publication Date: 2006 The New Underworld Order addresses the greatest crisis the world has ever faced – namely, the globalisation of criminalism. What this means is that governments, and the revolutionary New World Order cabal seeking global governance (or control), are increasingly in the hands of criminal gangs and corrupt power cliques that hide behind formal government positions. Many of the the main Illuminati figures on the world stage today are compromised or vulnerable to blackmail and other ‘Black Ops’ forms of control. During the giga-fund-raising operation, truly unbelievable sums of money were stolen, misrouted or ‘misappropriated’. Indeed, the ransacking and pillaging that took place was so colossal, and the impasse while this was occurring so extended (in 1989-91), that the international banking and financial systems nearly collapsed. Other funding resources resulting from creative Financial Warfare and scamming operations are hidden in accounts held by offshore corporations controlled by international intelligence, which is extensively criminalised and thus increasingly engaged in mafia-style global ‘gangland warfare’. A brilliant light is focused by the Author into this contemporary universe of darkness.Christopher Story’s sensational new exposé provides chapter and verse on the dark forces behind the New Underworld Order, gives detailed financial audit trails showing where and how colossal sums have vanished, identifies the international institutions that have had their trust abused by globalist criminalists or have themselves been corrupted by them, shows how secret Financial Warfare operations and scams conducted by the Great Powers are driving the world to catastrophe, and generally lifts the veil covering the global financial intelligence war which the pressured ‘mainstream’ media declines to monitor and report.

Sadiq Khan doesn’t answer questions on grooming gangs in London. Sadiq Khan DOESN’T KNOW what grooming gangs are?! (he can’t answer!!) | Susan Hall AM. Are there ‘grooming gangs’ in London? Sadiq Khan accused of stonewalling Tory questions Susan Hall asks mayor nine times whether there are ‘rape gangs’ in the capital Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan has been accused of “stonewalling” questions about whether London has a problem with so-called “grooming gangs”. His Tory rival Susan Hall made nine successive attempts at Mayor’s Question Time to ask Sir Sadiq whether there were gangs operating, or previously active, in the capital. But Sir Sadiq repeatedly asked Ms Hall, the former Tory mayoral candidate, to clarify what she meant by grooming gangs, claiming: “I’m not clear what she means.” He said young people were being “groomed” in London by County Lines drugs gangs. Ms Hall made clear she was referring to “rape gangs” that prey on girls and young women for sex, and mentioned cases in Rotherham and Bradford. It is currently unclear whether London has a current or historic problem with “grooming gangs”, though Mail Online reported that 41 it uncovered nationally included two in the capital. In her questions to the mayor on Thursday, Ms Hall chose not to make any reference to the heritage, nationality or religion of any alleged perpetrators. The City Hall clash came only hours before Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announced small-scale local investigations in five areas after weeks of pressure for a new national inquiry. Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has linked the grooming scandals to “peasants” from “sub-communities” while former Tory leadership candidate Robert Jenrick has blamed “alien cultures”. Ms Hall told The Standard on Friday: “Sadiq Khan needs to take this seriously. “The public deserve answers, not a mayor who plays schoolyard games to avoid answering questions and who chooses to stonewall instead of being open.” During her questioning of Sir Sadiq, Ms Hall warned that London was set to lose “1,287 police officers” because of a lack of funding. She then moved on to the subject of grooming gangs. Addressing the mayor, she said: “I asked you this question last week and you found every which way not to answer it. Just how many grooming gangs have we got in London?” Sir Sadiq replied: “The situation in London in relation to young people being groomed is different to other parts of the country. “What we have in London is young people being groomed – to use your words, not mine – to be used in ‘county lines’.” The exchange went on as below. Ms Hall: “OK, let me make it clear. I’m talking about rape gangs. I’m not talking about [county] lines.” Sir Sadiq: “To avoid any misunderstanding, can she define what she means by that?” Ms Hall: “Yes – if you look at what has gone on in Rotherham, where there are people taking young girls, grooming them for sex. That is what I am talking about.” Sir Sadiq: “Well, we know in London that there are issues about exploitation of young people, but they are not as defined by the [assembly] member in her definition of what those types of gangs are.” Ms Hall: “So are you saying we haven’t got the same sort of gangs that are in Rotherham, Bradford and lots of other places in the country?” Sir Sadiq: “To avoid misunderstanding, what does she mean by that?” Ms Hall: “You know full well what I mean by that. It’s all over the television. You know exactly what I mean by that – these gangs of people that are grooming young girls for sex. Do we actually have those in London?” Sir Sadiq: “To enable me to give a full answer, can she be clear what she means by that? I’m not clear what she means.” Ms Hall: “How much clearer do you want me to be? Look at the gangs they have uncovered in other parts of the country – do we have those gangs in London? It’s a simple question. The answer is very simple. It’s yes or no.” She added: “I’m not asking you where those gangs are, because the police might not want them to be disclosed. I’m asking you: do we have those sort of gangs in London?” Sir Sadiq: “I’m not sure why she is so nervous to say what she means. What do you mean?” Ms Hall: “I am saying exactly what I mean. I’m saying: have we got any of those grooming gangs in London?” Sir Sadiq: “I’m unclear, chair, what is meant by the question. If she could spell it out, I can answer.” Ms Hall: “I have just spelled it out! Are you not listening? It’s the sort of gangs that groom young girls at a young age for sex. Exactly how much clearer do you want me to be?” Sir Sadiq: “So we do have issues in London with young girls being groomed for county lines. Some of those girls are used for sex.” Ms Hall: “How many of these gangs that I am talking about… have we got in London? “The public is very, very and rightfully concerned about this, and concerned about these young women.” Sir Sadiq: “I’m still none the wiser why she’s so nervous about saying what she means.” Ms Hall: “Chairman, I was very clear in what I was talking about. I just don’t understand what it is that the mayor wants me to say that is any different.” Ms Hall’s fellow Tory London Assembly Lord Bailey has previously written to the mayor, saying there were a “significant number of unanswered questions around the scale of this scandal in the capital”.

Johnny Vedmore on Horace Dibben – child prostitution, Eric Hunley sits down with the renowned investigator and writer Johnny Vedmore to delve into the intriguing and complex history of Horace “Hod” Dibben. A figure shrouded in mystery, Dibben’s life intersected with dark happenings, satanism, and high-profile personalities, including gangsters and political figures. Vedmore, with his meticulous research and insightful analysis, sheds light on the multifaceted character of Dibben, from his enigmatic influence to his controversial actions and connections. From RAF service to intelligence operations and beyond, this conversation explores the depths of a man who was everything to everyone yet remained an enigma. Join us as we uncover the layers of Hod Dibben’s life, offering a unique glimpse into a past filled with intrigue, mystery, and the untold stories that shaped his legacy. The peculiar and fascinating Horace “Hod” Dibben took over Esmeralda’s Barn within a year of Esmeralda Gullan’s tragic death. Hod’s supposed ward, Patsy Morgan Dibben, was then put in charge of the club and the Barn then became the centre of intelligence-led spy-games, gangland infiltration and an elite sex blackmail operation. Soon Patsy Morgan-Dibben would go missing, reportedly taken by the devil himself. Let’s take a look at the mad world of satanic super-spy Hod Dibben. Patsy Morgan was a simple grocer’s daughter from Southampton, England. However, some time between the age of twelve and sixteen-years-old, she became the legal ward of a very strange and perverted individual. The evidence reveals that Patsy was groomed by a former-RAF squadron leader who later claimed to have also been a high level Satanist within a “black magic circle” based in the UK. She soon-after changed her name to Patsy Morgan-Dibben once she had become her legal guardian. This official “guardian” was a strange antique dealer named Horace “Hod” Dibben, who eventually created The Black Sheep night club in London. The Black Sheep would subsequently become a notorious haunt for some of the most famous people to inhabit the British capital’s night club scene. Hod Dibben took control of Esmeralda’s Barn less than a year after Esmeralda Gullan’s untimely death by gassing. He then ensured that his ward Patsy Morgan-Dibben became the Barn’s next “hostess with the mostest.” Yet, like Esmeralda, Patsy would soon be out of the picture, and her fate is still unclear to this very day.

The small 15-year-old girl stood on the doorstep of the formidable Kendall House with her child care officer. Her stepfather and mother had no desire to continue being her legal guardians, and there were little other options open to a homeless teenager in the early 1970s. They had made the poor little lady homeless at a crucial and complicated time in her mental and physical development. Her child care officer had spent the time in the car on the way to her future accommodation telling the anxious young lady of how great Kendall house was. By the time the girl was stood on the front step of the care home she would have had a chest full of excitement and trepidation. The front door opened to the sight of a strict-looking lady, who engaged in a brief conversation with the girl’s official state chaperone. Once he was out of sight the lady looked down upon the teenage girl, “I’m Miss Law” she said, “I’m in charge of this place.” The girl must have felt a chill down her spine as Miss Law grabbed her by her hair and pulled her in through the door. She realised at that moment that this was not the fairytale palace which had been sold to her during the short journey there. Inside the small porch area Miss Doris Law slammed the front door shut and she pulled out a large bunch of keys and began to lock the girls only route to the outside world. Once secured, Miss Law began unlocking the second door which led into the main house. On opening the door Miss Law grabbed the girl and pushed her through into the main building, throwing her small suitcase into the corner of the hallway. The pair were joined by two other ladies who were staff members. Miss Law and her two helpers started to strip the girl there and then. The now terrified girl stood there, shaking and naked in the main corridor of the home.

Johnny Vedmore talks about having a relationship in Cardiff with, having a son with, and then the machinations and pain of splitting up with, Chile-based US investigative journalist Whitney Webb. The agonies of losing contact both with Whitney and his son. SENSITIVE: Johnny Vedmore Responds to Whitney Webb Please be kind and wise Tessa Lena Sep 28, 2023 As you probably know, Whitney Webb, a household name in dissident journalism, whose work I have followed with reverence and shared generously with friends all throughout COVID, accused Johnny Vedmore, another gifted investigative journalist known especially for his work on Klaus Schwab’s ancestry and the CIA, of having been abusive in their personal relationship. Out of respect for both of them, I am not going to comment on the plot. I stepped forward to offer a platform to Johnny to present his side, for two reasons: One, I hate to see friends in distress. Having been through severe and very cruel abuse earlier in life and having paid a very high price for not defending myself at the time, I take this subject seriously, and I don’t believe it would be easy for a narcissist to befriend me at this point in my life. Two, the situation is very sad and yields itself very readily to exploitation and juicy takes. There is no lack of people who don’t like Johnny, or don’t like Whitney, or just like clickbait, and who would be thrilled to use this situation to make us all dumber or more militant, to divide us into Team Whitney and Team Johnny, and to make us fight another religious war with each other (while the people with a lot of money are restructuring our world). I rather detest this trend, so I stepped forward, albeit reluctantly so. I ask you to please carefully examine both sides without prejudice, with your eyes on spiritual clarity and truth, and make up your own mind based on what you see. The format of the interview is simple. I asked Johnny to tell his story and then just listened. I am merely a witness to his story. The interview is three hours long and packed with information that has never been told. This interview is a journey, very heavy, unusual, and emotionally intense. Please be kind to everyone. And yes, it goes without saying that Whitney has my invitation to come on my podcast if she wants to, and I will treat it with integrity as well. May the Creator support and protect the truth tellers, and may love and clarity heal us all.

Andrew Sibley on 400,000 children missing in Ukraine, and Hunter Biden’s laptop. In Conversation With Andrew Sibley; The Uk & Ukraine Child Trafficking Pipeline With Warren Thornton. In Conversation With Andrew Sibley; The UK & Ukraine Child Trafficking Pipeline With Warren Thornton Corruption in Ukraine has been a longstanding issue, and recent events have brought it into the spotlight. Here’s a summary of the situation: Resignations and Scandals: Several senior Ukrainian officials have resigned amid an anti-corruption drive initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky. This shake-up includes top advisers, deputy ministers, and regional governors. These officials faced allegations ranging from bribery to extravagant lifestyles. Kyrylo Tymoshenko: Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the president’s deputy head of office, resigned after being accused of using expensive sports cars during the war. He denies any wrongdoing1. Bribery and Inflated Prices: Deputy Defence Minister Vyacheslav Shapovalov also resigned due to reports that he oversaw the purchase of military food supplies at inflated prices from an unknown firm. The defence minister himself, Oleksii Reznikov, faced scrutiny for similar reasons1. EU Demands and Transparency: Ukraine ranks 122 out of 180 countries in Transparency International’s corruption index. The EU considers a crackdown on corruption a key requirement for Ukraine’s application to join the bloc1. Zelensky’s Promise: President Zelensky has vowed to address corruption and ensure justice applies to everyone. His government’s actions aim to restore public trust and create a fairer society1. It is evident that Zelensky has failed to tackle corruption and instead has taken a leading role. This is supported by the fact that this comedian was placed in power by Western powers as a puppet, leading us into an unfair war that will only result in devastation unless we act promptly. I am deeply concerned about the lack of action from the British public as we approach a potential war where our young people may face tragic consequences. It is crucial that we wake up and prevent this from happening. The issue of child trafficking in our country cannot be ignored. It is not a matter of hate speech, but rather a call to protect our freedom from those who engage in such heinous acts. It is time to take a stand against the individuals involved in these crimes and put an end to this exploitation of innocent children. This is a recording of an urgent phone call from Joe Biden to Poroshenko, requesting the closure of a Ukrainian bank to prevent any trace of payments being made to him.

‘The Air We Breath’ book by Glen Scrivener – Christianity. Is Christianity history? Or is Christian history the deepest explanation of the modern world? Today in the west, many consider the church to be dead or dying. Christianity is seen as outdated, bigoted and responsible for many of society’s problems. This leaves many believers embarrassed about their faith and many outsiders wary of religion. But what if the Christian message is not the enemy of our modern Western values, but the very thing that makes sense of them? In this fascinating book, Glen Scrivener takes readers on a journey to discover how the teachings of Jesus not only turned the ancient world upside down, but continue to underpin the way we think of life, worth, and meaning. Far from being a relic from the past, the distinctive ideas of Christianity, such as freedom, kindness, progress and equality, are a crucial part of the air that we breathe. As author Glen Scrivener says in his introduction: “The extraordinary impact of Christianity is seen in the fact that we don’t notice it”. This is a book for both believers and scepticsgiving Christians confidence to be open about their faith and showing non-Christians the ways in which the message of Jesus makes sense of their most cherished beliefs. Whoever you are, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the values you hold dear as you discover the power and profundity of Jesus and his revolution. Glen Scrivener is an ordained minister and the Director of Speak Life, an organisation that exists to share the love of Jesus through creative communication. He has also authored several books, including The Gift, 321, The Story of God, the World and You and Long Story Short: The Bible in 12 Phrases

All other episodes are still available on YouTube! – Explosive Secrets of the Freemasons When the House of Commons Affairs Committee recently recommended that police officers, magistrates, judges and crown officers should publicly register their masonic membership, it was very largely thanks to the ammunition provided by Martin Short’s investigative tour de force. A Sicilian mobster, a Sardinian financier and three others are accused of killing Calvi, whose death in June 1982 was initially ruled a suicide. Rome prosecutors say the Mafia murdered Calvi for stealing from them and from Italian financier Licio Gelli, who was the head of the shadowy P2 Masonic organisation. The trial opened yesterday and was adjourned until November 23rd after brief initial proceedings held inside a maximum-security prison in Italy’s capital. Convicted Cosa Nostra treasurer Pippo Calo listened via teleconference from his prison elsewhere in Italy. Calo was shown on a monitor in the courtroom, looking calm and wearing a dark sports coat with his hands folded in his lap. In a court document, prosecutors say Calo (74) ordered the murder. Calvi was “asphyxiated by strangulation and hanged in London under Blackfriars Bridge, on the Thames, in such a way as to simulate suicide”. He had bricks stuffed in his pockets and $15,000 on his person when found dangling from scaffolding under the bridge. His death came shortly after the bank he headed, Banco Ambrosiano, went bankrupt in a spectacular scandal involving loans to Latin American companies. Ambrosiano was then Italy’s largest private banking group and worked with the Vatican. It was Italy’s biggest post-war banking scandal, and one that implicated the Vatican, which had provided letters of credit for massive missing loans. After the initial suicide ruling, prosecutors say a more recent medical review found evidence pointing to murder, including the type of damage to Calvi’s neck bones. His hands and fingernails were also clean. If he had stuffed bits of brick in his own pockets and climbed a rusting scaffolding to hang himself, prosecutors have argued, there would have been traces of dirt. The other defendants are Sardinian financier Flavio Carboni, his Austrian former girlfriend Manuela Kleinszig, businessman and alleged Rome crime boss Ernesto Diotallevi and Calvi’s former bodyguard, Silvano Vittor. Prosecutors allege Mr Carboni and Mr Vittor went to London with Calvi to deliver him to the people who would murder him, according to court documents and Vittor’s lawyer. They allege that Calvi, president of the failing Banco Ambrosiano, was laundering money for the Mafia, and that Calo ordered his murder because Mafia bosses were angry at Calvi for appropriating Mafia money and were afraid the banker would talk.

HaloRock documentary ‘Emperor Constantine: from the Vatican to the Holy Roman Empire’. The Sun Worshiping Roman Empire Merged with Christianity & Became The ‘Holy’ Roman Empire. Mithraism – Most of the research into Mithraism, a religion with many parallels to Christianity, comes from two writers, Cumont and Ulansey with a variety of other writers input. Some Similarities Between Mithraism and Christianity are: Virgin birth, Twelve followers, Killing and resurrection, Miracles, Birthdate on December 25. Morality – Mankind’s savior Known as the Light of the world Have you ever wondered why December 25th was chosen, by the Roman church, to celebrate the birth of Christ? If the accounts in the Bible are correct, the time of Jesus birth would have been closer to mid-summer, for this is when shepherds would have been “tending their flocks in the field” and the new lambs were born. Strange enough there is an ancient pagan religion, Mithraism, which dates back over 2,800 years that also celebrated the birth of their “savior” on that date. Many elements in the story of Jesus’ life and birth are either coincidental or borrowings from earlier and contemporary pagan religions. The most obviously similar of these is Mithraism. Roman Mithraism was a mystery religion with sacrifice and initiation. Like other mystery cults, there’s little recorded literary evidence. What we know comes mainly from Christian detractors and archaeological evidence from Mithraic temples, inscriptions, and artistic representations of the god and other aspects of the cult. In an EAWC (Exploring Ancient World Cultures) essay entitled Mithraism, Alison Griffith explains Cumont’s theory of a Zoroastrian origin for the Roman Mithraist religion. While this theory is disputed, there was a Mitra in the Hindu pantheon and a minor deity named Mithra among the Persians as well. Cumont came to believe the religion spread westward from Eastern Roman provinces. However, as Griffith explains, there is little evidence of a Zoroastrian Mithra cult and most evidence for Mithraic worship comes from the western portion of the empire from which Cumont correctly deduced that “Mithraism was most popular among legionaries (of all ranks), and the members of the more marginal social groups who were not Roman citizens: freedmen, slaves, and merchants from various provinces….” No women were allowed. The Dawning of the Age of Aries – Ulansey says the main problem with basing Mithraism on a Zoroastrian cult is that there is no evidence that the Zoroastrians’ Mithra practiced bull killing, the central aspect of Roman Mithraic iconography. An image of Mithras killing the bull holds pride of place in each mithraeum (cave-like temple for the worship of Mithras). Ulansey believes the images of Mithras slaying the bull are actually astronomical star maps. In support of this he points out that all the figures represented in the iconography have a place in the constellations (Taurus, Canis Minor, Hydra, Corvus, and Scorpio). He says that the other iconography and even the initiation ceremonies are consistently astronomical….
