Peace could be achieved in short order in Korea if the governments of North and South were left to sort out matters themselves. But the "indispensable nation," the US, insists political solutions must be vetted in Washington.

At the Winter Olympics Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made a very impressive diplomatic appearance that put Cold War advocates in the shade.
