The US plan to bring down President Assad involved false stories of “Arab Spring” peaceful demonstrations, and the incitement of Shia-Sunni conflict. Now the Syrian army is winning the battle for Aleppo, yet Western media are doubling down on the myth of sectarian division and blatantly ignoring the material basis for the popular support of Assad. Many in the left of Europe and America have been blinded by propaganda.

Meanwhile, revolutionary Cuba has remained in solidarity with Syria, as both countries face embargoes and sanctions for daring to challenge imperialism.
