Tonight Phineas Narco bails me out again with a truly disastrous episode of MIDNIGHT VOICEJAIL--the "disastrous" referring to Doktor Narco's topic tonight. Destruction, mayhem, tremors, eruptions,'s a total onslaught of violent natural and man-made fuckery from start to finish! This episode of MVJ is some major historical hysteria, with real-time voice mail reports of earthquake aftershocks and collapsing World Trade Centers recorded as the shit was still being firehosed into the fucking fan. You will be soaking in an ass-clenching array of authentic action and first-person experiences caught on tape--and as it unreels, you will be the unzipped fly on the wall. DAMN!

To fill out the hour slot, I sandwiched Phineas's show between excepts from Frances Cannon the Singing Psychic's nasally twanging opus "Earthquakes"! I used to play this song almost once a year for the New Year's show with frightening success, judging by the spate of January quakes it spurred: 1995--Kobe, Japan; 1998--Chile; 1999--Colombia; 2000--China...and 2001 seemed to be the winner with the Philippines, Vanuatu, Alaska, El Salvador, and India, until 2002 beat it with Vanuatu (again!), Tajikistan, Guinea, the Congo, Turkey, and Crete! I haven't played it in a while, so beware if you live on a fault line.
