Presenting NEEDLE IN THE RED #27, "Walking on Rooftops"--a mindbending journey through a sonic dreamscape created by our master soundsmith Dr Phineas Narco! There is even a manifesto of sorts near the end, when Phin explains the intuitive flow of his editing craft. Besides Narco's usual tour de force of mixing and arrangement, this show has something more--when I reviewed it last night as I prepared for bed, it proved to have medicinal powers. It was so soothing in its tones and textures that it soothed my savage breasts--all three of 'em. All the cares of the day melted away as his carefully crafted sonic therapies reknit my ravaged mental tissues. The highlight of the show for me were his breathtaking mixes--a particularly schizophrenic blend of dream themes, and then a crazy-quilt mix of a multitude of covers of Zep's "Stairway" that even has Dolly Parton in on the scheme. All in all, fucking brilliant, and much better than I could offer if I tried. ALL HAIL PHIN!
