Get ready to soak up a barrage of the most singular crap ever shat out by doped-up session hacks! The Makers of Smooth Music are lubed and ready to go, translating the dreams of everyday housewives and other lunatics into sonic dross that will have you shaking your head in baffled wonderment. These were all vanity recordings created in response to those little ads in the back of cheesy magazines that claimed they'd "Set YOUR POEMS to MUSIC!" The documentary that inspired these shows is OFF THE CHARTS: THE SONG-POEM STORY--check it out! Part 1's cavalcade of sonic atrocity lurches to a clashing crescendo with the most bestest and ultimate song poem ever penned...Mrs. Dorothy Schneider's orgasmic tribute to a drum kit, "The Beat of the Traps"--recorded by a studio full of session men who were drunk of their fucking ASSES!!!
Then Part 2's tunes take us through the churning chumtunnel of American history, from Chris Columbus to JFK and Jimmy Carter, with a stridently masturbatory neo-religious tribute to Richard Milhous Nixon. Then there's the bouncy ditty "Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Potash-Shee-um to her" song and the strangely mournful ballad "Blue Atoms." And then we Disco through the Crisco (too true) all the way to a stirring tribute to the enigmatic and multi-aliased Rodd Rodgers/Rod Keith/Rodney Keith Eskelin, the most intriguing man behind the <?music?>. He was the Mellotron-playing song arranger of MSR Records, a man whose distinctive and inventive career was truncated by a perhaps-suicidal headfirst swandive off an LA overpass in the '70s--but not before he left behind a body of work that will make you wanna wiggle it a little with the Devil's daughter, I betcha.

Sure this show is a lot of fun...but careful, seekers--these insidious earworms play for fucking KEEPS.

NOTE: Please excuse the slight muddiness of Part 1.
