This week's show features stories from Spanish National Radio, Radio Deutsche-Welle, Radio Havana Cuba, NHK World Radio Japan, and The Voice Of Russia. From SPAIN- The head of the Catalon region of Spain has renewed his promise to hold a referendum on independence from Spain in November. The death toll in eastern Ukraine doubled in the past week with the government forces bombing buildings in Donetsk daily. A convoy of 280 Russian trucks carrying humanitarian aid to eastern Ukraine has been held up and delayed while people in the region suffer a lack of food and water. The US bombing campaign in northern Iraq continues and the CIA has been secretly supplying Kurdish troops with weapons. From GERMANY- Much of Europe is losing its patience with Israel following what the majority see as a disproportionate response to Hamas rockets- many see it as a war crime. A roundup of reactions in Britain, Germany, and Turkey. From CUBA- FARC rebels and the Colombian government have resumed peace talks in Cuba, with reparations on the agenda. According to the government, Argentina is protecting national interests in its debt dispute with hedge fund creditors. Obama approved the deployment of an additional 130 military advisors to Iraq and said the bombings could go on for months. From JAPAN- Two stories about attempts to decontaminate radioactive water from the Fukushima area before it enters the Pacific Ocean. The relationship between Japan and Russia has become quite strained- Japan went along with sanctions against Russia for alleged involvement with rebels in eastern Ukraine and now Russia is holding military exercises on islands claimed by Japan. Human Rights Watch accused the government in Egypt of crimes against humanity for its crackdown on protestors. From RUSSIA- Thousands of Afghanistan civilians have been left without justice according to an Amnesty International report which revealed the number of civilian deaths and casualties at the hands of the American military. An interview with Olaf Blomqvist

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer. TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >
I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
