The older archives (>10 years old) have been substantially recovered -- more than 23,800 files' worth -- and are now reachable through the search engine and via file download. Email here if you have any questions.
Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

I pulled this out of the archives by mistake and realized it's time to give it another spin. The "Purple Knif Show" is an archival diamond: In 1984, the beloved Lux Interior of the Cramps broadcast a show in LA that paid tribute to Cleveland's Ghoulardi, the horror host whose catchphrase "Stay sick!" created a race of mutants, and this was the marvelous result! Strap yourself in for a rollercoaster ride through some of the weird-ass 45 rpm obscurities from Lux's extensive collection of outré recordings, punctuated by bits by the man himself, goofing with '80s radio effects and having one helluva good time!

Here's some background on the show with a playlist (sorry, but I had to trim off a couple songs to hit the 1:00:00 mark):
