In 2012, there were 39 workplace deaths reported in Manitoba and more than 30,000 workplace injuries. Statistics on workplace accidents and injuries are based only on what's reported and there is evidence that workers are under-reporting their injuries. The report Fair Compensation Review states that employers routinely encourage workers to not report injuries, a practice called claims suppression. There's more information at mfl.mb.ca.
