This year it is make or break for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, after its financial collapse last year. This year's launch on Friday February 7, was awaited with much trepidation, given that this is the first Mardi Gras under the New Mardi Gras board. The venue was not the glamorous Opera House but a central city park. The stage was only quarter the size of previous years. But the turnout was magnificent and has given new hope to the continuing existence of one of the world
