This the second part of the Bettie Page interview that I've been sitting on practically since I started the show. Being able to share this precious thing with you is so special I can't stand it. It's one thing to read the interview in a magazine--but to hear her voice grow warmer as the memories start flooding back, and her knowing chuckles...it just killed me. And the story of Bettie and the lobster traps always breaks my heart.

That part of her story happened after she walked away from modeling and all that noise. She was working as a secretary in Florida, living with a boyfriend named Armando--as Bettie put it, "He liked eating hamburgers and making love. After a while, I got tired of hamburgers..." But they were scraping by, supplementing their income with lobsters that they caught and sold. They set traps out in the ocean and as soon as Bettie got off work, she'd get in the boat and go out and haul up her lobster traps--only to find them empty, because "bad boys" from town had gone out there and stole her lobsters while she was at work. That image of Bettie, bobbing alone and insignificant in a little boat out at sea, crying over her empty lobster traps when just a few years before she was at the center of the world...it just fucking slays me every time.

And hear the MOST BONEHEADED FUCKUP IN THE HISTORY OF HIPSTERS as *somebody* records himself making dinner plans with some jerkoff OVER THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF BETTIE'S LIFE STORY!!!

Well, it's NOT right now any more! You missed it, and she's DEAD! BETTIE'S DEAD! And YOU WEREN'T HERE! You, you--*sob, sob, choke*
