Part A - Kevin Pina is a documentary filmmaker and freelance journalist who was working and living in Haiti during the 2004 coup that ousted president Aristide from power. He has been covering events in Haiti for the past decade, Mr. Pina is also the Haiti Special Correspondent for the Flashpoints radio program on the Pacifica Network's flagship station KPFA in Berkeley Pina speaks about the recent Nov 28 elections in Haiti where the country is still recovering from the earthquake that killed over 200,000 people, where over a million people are still homeless. An election in the midst of a major cholera outbreak.
Part B - Independent journalist Jon Elmer speaks to us from Bethlehem about Canada's ongoing mission in Afghanistan, he speaks about the situation on the ground compared to what we hear in the mainstream media. He also points out the powerful role that Canadian civil society could have on the mission.
